Junior SOS 2022 Update
The Junior Shag Association is actively planning for this year’s Junior SOS. We are excited to celebrate the 31st anniversary of the largest junior dance event in the world! The 2022 dates for Junior SOS are July 12-17th. In order to honor the history and traditions of our past, we must thoughtfully prepare for the future. To set up all generations for success, The Board will finalize this year’s Junior SOS plans under the guidance of the most up-to-date healthcare standards. The format (in person or virtual) will be announced in April. If we are able to have an in-person event, the OD Beach and Golf resort will be our host for this week-long event.

The headquarters will once again be the O.D. Beach and Golf Resort. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to have the resort serve as our headquarters for Junior SOS. Our association is so blessed to not only have the resort to use for Junior SOS but we also have the opportunity for our kids to dance in the great clubs that we as adults get to dance in North Myrtle Beach.

It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the cancellation of Junior SOS 2021. This was an incredibly difficult decision, as this is truly the highlight of our year. Due to the significant impact and continued threat of COVID-19, we believe it is in the best interest of all participants to cancel the event this summer. The health, safety and well-being of our dance community is our top priority. Please stay tuned for more information on Virtual Junior SOS, July 13-18, 2021. The Junior Shag Association Scholarship will still be awarded for 2021 and the application will be updated on the website soon.

May 7th, 2020 - Junior SOS 2020 Update:

Due to the significant impact and credible threat of COVID-19, we believe it is in the best interest of all participants to cancel the event this summer. The health, safety and well-being of our dance community is our top priority. Please stay tuned for more information on virtual events. The Junior Shag Association Scholarship application is still active. The deadline to submit applications is May 15th. We will be back in the Summer 2021, July 13-18, and it will be BETTER THAN EVER! Until we see you again, please stay safe and healthy and know that we miss all of you!

Volunteers Signup is Open!

Hey Adults, how would you like to help? Junior SOS is a huge undertaking and we could use your help. Volunteers do things like greet people at the door, registration assistance, workshop room setup and more.

Ambassador Signup is Open!

Are you interested in being a Shag Ambassador this summer at Jr SOS? (Must be at least 16 years old and have attended Jr SOS at least 3 years). Being a Shag Ambassador is fun! The Ambassador program is designed to provide older junior shaggers with an opportunity to be leaders within the shag community. Work behind the scenes with the event organizers to help make Jr SOS a success.
